On-Site Measure
We walk the wine room, lock ceiling height, channel layout, door swing, glass type, and hardware finish, and coordinate with your GC or cellar specialist on cooling and racking already in scope.
A frameless glass wine wall makes the collection the visual centerpiece of the home. Sightlines stay open from the kitchen, dining room, or great room into the cellar, and light moves through the bottles instead of being shut out by a solid wall. The heavy glass enclosure also separates the temperature-controlled cellar space from the rest of the home without walling it off visually, so the climate stays where it belongs while the design stays open. Every project is measured and fabricated to the exact opening of your room, with no kit-and-cabinet shortcuts. One scope note: Moffat fabricates and installs the glass wall, door, and channel system. Cooling systems and wine racking are handled by your GC or wine cellar specialist, the right specialist for each layer of the build.

Most premium wine cellars spec around frameless floor-to-ceiling glass wine walls, full-height channel-set heavy glass that reads as a single architectural plane. Larger dedicated wine rooms move to glass wine room enclosures, multi-panel builds wrapped around corners, U-shape rooms, or alcove openings. Every panel is cut, edge-worked, drilled, tempered, and inspected in-shop.
Single-pane glass wine walls cover smaller-scale displays in kitchens, dining rooms, and great rooms, where one clean panel is the cleanest spec. Pivot or hinged glass wine cellar doors are fabricated as part of the same enclosure: pivot for taller openings, hinge for standard residential openings.
Restaurant and hospitality wine display walls cover the low-rise commercial slice: restaurants, wine bars, hospitality interiors, and mixed-use buildings up to four stories. Coordinated channel and clamp systems anchor each build, channels at the floor, ceiling, and wall, or point-fixed clamps where the architecture calls for it. Every configuration leverages Moffat's in-house heavy glass fabrication and tempering.
Custom wine cellar glass runs 3/8-inch tempered or 1/2-inch tempered. The 1/2-inch spec trends for taller floor-to-ceiling walls and visual presence; 3/8-inch covers shorter spans and single-pane displays. Clear glass is the standard, with low-iron (ultra-clear) as the common premium upgrade. Edge work (polished, beveled, or seamed) and hinge or pivot prep cutouts are finished in-shop before the panel enters the kiln, because no edge or hole work is possible after tempering.
The wine cellar door is fabricated as part of the same enclosure, with pivot or hinge hardware and finish options (matte black, brushed nickel, polished chrome, brushed brass) locked at the on-site measure. Glass meets ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201 Cat. II safety-glazing standards. Insulated dual-pane glass is available if your cellar specialist recommends it.

Most of Moffat's wine cellar work lives in luxury Northern Colorado homes. Dedicated wine rooms in custom basement builds, mountain-modern foothills homes around Loveland and Berthoud, Fort Collins luxury remodels, and the Bellvue and Laporte custom-build edge anchor the demand pattern. Open-plan great rooms with feature wine walls along the kitchen or dining sightline are a frequent spec, and smaller single-pane displays show up in primary suites and libraries. Moffat is the glass scope; cooling and wine racking are handled by your GC or wine cellar specialist.
On the commercial side, Moffat fabricates wine display walls for Northern Colorado restaurants, wine bars, hospitality interiors, and mixed-use buildings. Commercial scope caps at four stories.
We walk the wine room, lock ceiling height, channel layout, door swing, glass type, and hardware finish, and coordinate with your GC or cellar specialist on cooling and racking already in scope.
Glass is custom-cut, edge-worked, drilled, and tempered in our Northern Colorado heavy glass fabrication shop. Most custom glass wine cellars install in 1 to 2 weeks from approved measurement, versus 2 to 3 weeks for vendors who outsource fabrication.
Moffat technicians install, never subcontracted. Channels and premium hardware are set to spec and torque verified, with light coordination back to your GC on any cooling or racking sequencing.
We check panel alignment, door swing, hardware torque, and finish, and if anything needs adjusting in the first year, the same Moffat team that built it comes back to make it right.
Since 1921, Moffat has cut, tempered, and installed custom heavy glass across Northern Colorado, over a century of in-shop craftsmanship anchored in three locations (Evans HQ, Loveland, and Fort Collins) serving Larimer and Weld County. We hold BBB Northern Colorado A+ accreditation and National Glass Association (NGA) membership, plus the Shower Door Professionals Co-op and our Greeley and Evans Chamber memberships.
Wine cellar hardware pairs to CRL (C.R. Laurence) for residential heavy-glass pivots, hinges, channels, and clamps. Every install is handled by Moffat technicians, never subcontracted. Moffat is the glass scope; cooling and wine racking stay with your GC or cellar specialist. Our workmanship warranty is industry-standard, backed by 100+ years of in-house craft and the same heavy glass fabrication capability we apply across showers, partitions, and storefronts.
Most custom glass wine cellars from Moffat run $4,000 to $7,000 for the glass scope only in Northern Colorado. The range covers the heavy-glass wall or enclosure, the glass door, channels, hardware, and our in-house fabrication and install. Cooling systems, wine racking, and cabinetry are handled by your GC or cellar specialist, not by Moffat. Final cost depends on panel size and count, glass thickness, low-iron versus standard, edge work, and hardware finish. Large multi-panel enclosures can exceed the range. Request a quote with your room dimensions and the spec your builder has in mind.
No. Moffat is the glass scope only. Your general contractor or wine cellar specialist handles the cooling system and wine racking. That keeps each scope with the right specialist: Moffat owns the custom-cut heavy-glass work, while cellar specialists own climate control and racking. Bring your cellar plan to the on-site measure and we will spec the glass around it.
Moffat fabricates wine cellar glass in 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch tempered. The 1/2-inch spec is typical for taller floor-to-ceiling wine walls and visual presence; 3/8-inch covers shorter spans and single-pane displays. Both meet ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201 Cat. II safety standards. Low-iron glass is a common upgrade that maximizes bottle color clarity. Final spec confirmed at the on-site measure.
Most custom glass wine cellars install in 1 to 2 weeks from approved measurement at Moffat, versus 2 to 3 weeks for vendors who outsource fabrication. We cut, edge, drill, temper, and inspect every panel in our Northern Colorado shop, with no out-of-state shipping leg between the cut and the install. Request a quote to lock your timeline.

Yes, the heavy glass is tempered to meet safety code. Standard tempered glass blocks some UV but not all. ANSI Z97.1 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201 Cat. II compliance comes standard on every panel. For UV protection of the collection itself, insulated glass with a UV-blocking layer can be specified. Talk through the UV plan with your cellar specialist and we will spec the glass to match.
Bring architectural clarity, premium materials, and a sightline to your collection together in a custom glass wine cellar fabricated and tempered in our Northern Colorado shop. Over a century of in-shop heavy-glass craft, scoped honestly to the glass wall, door, and channel system, with cooling and racking handed off to the right specialist. Share your project type and rough dimensions for Larimer or Weld County, and we will walk the room, lock the spec, and fabricate the panels in-house.

I do not hesitate to recommend Moffat Glass
"We needed our patio screen door replaced. Moffat answered the phone (something that 3 other businesses did not do), scheduled someone to come measure the same day, manufactured our non-standard sized door and installed it within a week. We have yet to hear from the other businesses we contacted who told us they would 'get right back' to us. The quality of customer service was very good. Everyone was friendly, professional, and expressed appreciation for our business. I do not hesitate to recommend Moffat Glass. They have been in Greeley for a long time and I can see why they have lasted."
I will absolutely be using Moffat again and I highly recommend them!
