Single Door, In-Line Panel, or Corner Layout
Common configurations are a single hinged door against a wall, a hinged door paired with a fixed in-line side panel, and hinged doors set into 90-degree corner or neo-angle layouts.
Frameless hinged doors are built around one of two heavy-glass hinge patterns. Wall-mount hinges anchor the door to a stud-backed wall on one side and are used when the door meets a finished wall at the jamb. Glass-to-glass hinges connect the door to a stationary in-line side panel and are used when the layout pairs a swinging door with a fixed glass return rather than a wall.
We select the pattern based on the framing behind the opening and the look the layout is going for.
Common configurations are a single hinged door against a wall, a hinged door paired with a fixed in-line side panel, and hinged doors set into 90-degree corner or neo-angle layouts.
Most residential hinged doors use 3/8" tempered heavy glass. We step up to 1/2" tempered on wider single panels where the additional thickness reads as more substantial.
Hardware comes from CRL (C.R. Laurence), including heavy-duty hinges, clamps, and handle finishes in matte black, brushed nickel, polished chrome, oil-rubbed bronze, and gold.
Hinged doors work best in bathrooms with enough room outside the shower opening for the door's swing arc. Common configurations are a single hinged door against a wall, a hinged door paired with a fixed in-line side panel, and hinged doors set into 90-degree corner or neo-angle layouts.
Most residential hinged doors swing outward into the bathroom rather than inward, which is industry-standard for water containment and clearance. Because the swing path is the load-bearing variable on this style, every project starts with on-site templating: we measure the opening, confirm the swing direction and arc against the surrounding fixtures, and lock the door width and hardware location before fabrication.
Custom hinged shower enclosures install in 1–2 weeks from approved measurement, vs. 2–3 weeks for vendors who outsource heavy-glass fabrication out of state. Sealing uses a sweep or drip-rail along the bottom edge with vertical seals against the wall or side panel: standard frameless waterproofing.
Squeegee after every use to keep water spotting and soap film from building up on the glass.
Skip ammonia-based cleaners; use a non-abrasive glass cleaner to protect the glass and hinge finishes.
Have the hinges checked periodically so the door stays plumb and swings cleanly without dragging.
Consider an optional factory-applied Diamon-Fusion hydrophobic coating for hard-water defense in Northern Colorado's water conditions.
A hinged shower door swings open on side-mounted hinges; a sliding door moves along a top track and needs no swing clearance. Hinged doors give the widest opening of any frameless style and suit larger bathrooms; sliding doors fit tighter footprints. Moffat fabricates both styles in-house in Northern Colorado.
A hinged shower door needs enough clear floor space outside the shower opening for the full swing arc, free of vanities, toilets, or wall obstructions. Most residential hinged doors swing outward into the bathroom; the exact clearance depends on the door width (typically 24" to 36") and the surrounding fixture layout. Rather than asking buyers to guess, our team templates the opening on-site, confirms the swing direction against the actual room, and locks the door width before fabrication so the swing fits the space cleanly.
A hinged door swings on side-mounted hinges (wall-mount or glass-to-glass); a pivot door swings on a top-and-bottom pivot pin set centered or off-center in the door. Pivot doors accommodate wider single panels and swing both directions; hinged doors swing one direction and pair with a wall or side panel.
Moffat installs most custom hinged shower doors in 1–2 weeks from approved measurement. Vendors who outsource heavy-glass fabrication out of state typically run 2–3 weeks. Because our Northern Colorado team tempers and finishes every panel locally, the timeline stays tight, and install day itself is usually a single day once the glass arrives.

I do not hesitate to recommend Moffat Glass
"We needed our patio screen door replaced. Moffat answered the phone (something that 3 other businesses did not do), scheduled someone to come measure the same day, manufactured our non-standard sized door and installed it within a week. We have yet to hear from the other businesses we contacted who told us they would 'get right back' to us. The quality of customer service was very good. Everyone was friendly, professional, and expressed appreciation for our business. I do not hesitate to recommend Moffat Glass. They have been in Greeley for a long time and I can see why they have lasted."
I will absolutely be using Moffat again and I highly recommend them!
