Partial Wall, Tub-Side, or Floor-to-Ceiling
Configurations include short cantilevered partial-wall panels, panels alongside a freestanding tub, and taller floor-to-ceiling fixed panels. Each is made-to-fit for one opening.
A splash panel is a single fixed pane of tempered heavy glass, with no door and no return walls. The design intent is openness and architectural restraint, which is why designers and architects spec splash panels for premium walk-in showers, freestanding-tub setups, and compact bathrooms where a full enclosure would feel boxy.
Every panel is sized to the specific opening and the structural support available at the curb or floor, from short cantilevered partial-wall panels to taller floor-to-ceiling fixed panels.
Configurations include short cantilevered partial-wall panels, panels alongside a freestanding tub, and taller floor-to-ceiling fixed panels. Each is made-to-fit for one opening.
Most standard-height residential splash panels use 3/8" tempered heavy glass. Taller panels, typically above 60 inches, step up to 1/2" tempered glass because the top edge is unsupported and the thicker glass adds the rigidity the geometry needs.
Hardware comes from CRL (C.R. Laurence), including base channel, heavy-glass clamps, and optional stainless support arms. Mounting can run U-channel at the base, wall-mounted with clamps, header-supported with a stainless support arm, or fully cantilevered for the shortest applications.
Splash panels work best in three primary configurations: as a partial wall at the wet end of a walk-in shower (the most common residential application), alongside a freestanding tub to contain spray without boxing in the bath (a designer and architect favorite), and in compact bathrooms where a full enclosure won't physically fit.
Because every panel is made-to-fit, projects start with on-site templating: we measure the actual placement, confirm the support conditions, then fabricate and temper the panel to that exact dimension in our Northern Colorado shop.
Custom splash panels install in 1–2 weeks from approved measurement, vs. 2–3 weeks for vendors who outsource shower-door fabrication out of state. Install day itself often runs slightly faster than a full enclosure because there are fewer components: one panel, the base or wall hardware, and optional support arm.
Squeegee the glass after every use to keep water spotting and soap film off the panel.
Clean with a non-abrasive glass cleaner and skip anything ammonia-based to protect the glass and hardware finishes.
Splash panels are easier to maintain than full enclosures — no door track, no bottom sweep, no return-wall corners where mildew tends to collect.
Inspect the base channel, clamps, and any support arms periodically to confirm the panel stays plumb and tight.
A splash panel is a single fixed glass panel at the wet end of a walk-in shower or freestanding-tub setup, with no door and no return walls. A door enclosure uses a hinged or sliding door with return walls. Moffat fabricates splash panels in-house using 3/8" or 1/2" tempered heavy glass.
Custom splash panels can be fabricated from short cantilevered partial-wall panels up to floor-to-ceiling fixed panels, sized to the specific opening rather than a nominal stock dimension. Standard-height splash panels (typically under 60 inches) use 3/8" tempered heavy glass; taller panels above 60 inches typically use 1/2" tempered glass plus a stainless support arm to the wall, since the top edge is unsupported.
Custom splash panels typically price below full frameless shower enclosures because the fabrication is single-panel with fewer components, even though the glass spec is the same heavy-glass tempered stock. Cost varies by panel height, glass thickness, mounting hardware, and finish, so every quote is project-specific.
Moffat installs most custom splash panels in 1–2 weeks from approved measurement. Vendors who outsource fabrication out of state typically run 2–3 weeks. Install day is usually a single day once the glass arrives, and often slightly faster than a full enclosure because there are fewer components.

I do not hesitate to recommend Moffat Glass
"We needed our patio screen door replaced. Moffat answered the phone (something that 3 other businesses did not do), scheduled someone to come measure the same day, manufactured our non-standard sized door and installed it within a week. We have yet to hear from the other businesses we contacted who told us they would 'get right back' to us. The quality of customer service was very good. Everyone was friendly, professional, and expressed appreciation for our business. I do not hesitate to recommend Moffat Glass. They have been in Greeley for a long time and I can see why they have lasted."
I will absolutely be using Moffat again and I highly recommend them!
