We walk the room, capture the wall conditions precisely (out-of-square corners, baseboard variations, and the exact positions of sconces, outlets, and switches), and template the mirror to those actual dimensions.
Walls are rarely square, baseboards rarely straight, and sconce wiring is almost never where a stock sheet expects it. A custom cut mirror is templated to those actual conditions, so the panel meets the corner cleanly, sits flush against the baseboard, and accommodates outlet and switch positions without on-site improvisation. Edge work goes beyond box-store seam edges to flat-polished or beveled that earn a finished piece its place in a premium room. The glass itself is heavier and more durable, with cleaner reflection than thin retail sheets. And when an older mirror is worth saving rather than replacing, we restore it instead of forcing a teardown.
On the new-install side, we cut and install vanity mirrors for bathrooms, sized for single, double, or wall-spanning layouts and templated around the actual sconce and outlet positions. Wall-to-wall mirror sheets cover bathrooms, dressing rooms, dining walls, and hallway runs as a single seamless panel. Decorative framed mirrors anchor entryways, living rooms, and gallery walls, with the mirror cut to fit a customer-supplied or partner-sourced frame. Home gym and studio mirrors turn a residential workout room into a real training space, and our commercial gym and studio scope continues on a dedicated commercial sibling page. Closet door mirrors replace tired builder-grade inserts on sliding, hinged, and walk-in panels, with the chance to upgrade edge work in the process. On the repair side, our mirror work covers re-silvering aged residential mirrors where the back coating has darkened, spotted, or worn through, cracked or chipped panel replacement on the existing install footprint, and hidden-channel retrofit for older clip-mounted mirrors that deserve a cleaner modern look.
Edge work is the spec layer most buyers feel first. We offer three finishes on custom cut mirrors: flat-polished for a clean modern face, beveled for the traditional reflective angle most common on framed pieces. Mirror plate runs at 1/4-inch standard for residential installs and 3/8-inch heavy plate where larger spans earn the upgrade. Backing is premium silver-backed glass with copper and protective paint layers that resist moisture penetration, which matters most in bathrooms. Mounting uses one of three methods: traditional mirror clips, construction-grade adhesive for a flush look with no visible hardware, or hidden-channel mounts. Sconce holes, outlet penetrations, switch cutouts, and corner notches are all cut to template before the mirror leaves the shop.
Bathrooms carry the heaviest mirror work, from single vanities and wall-spanning sheets over double vanities to full primary-suite mirror walls. Bedrooms and dressing rooms add closet door inserts, full-length wall mirrors, and oversized statement pieces. Home gyms and basement workout spaces use full-wall mirror runs that turn a room into a training environment. Living rooms, dining rooms, and entryways carry decorative framed pieces and gallery accent mirrors. We check panel alignment, plumb and level, edge inspection, and finish cleanliness, and if anything needs adjusting in the first year, the same Moffat team that installed it comes back to make it right.

Most custom cut mirror installations in Northern Colorado run $200 to $1,000 for a typical bathroom mirror or single-wall sheet. Larger projects (full-wall gym mirrors, multi-room scopes, designer-framed accent pieces) run higher, and premium edge work or 3/8-inch heavy plate shifts the spec. Mirror re-silvering restores the reflective backing on an older mirror where the silver has darkened, spotted, or worn through, common on antique and character-home mirrors. The process strips the failed backing, re-applies fresh silver and protective paint layers, and seals the back for moisture resistance. Re-silvering is worth it when the original frame carries sentimental or design value and is itself sound; replacement makes more sense when the frame is damaged or you want a different size or edge spec. Many Northern Colorado shops will not take on re-silvering, but we do. Send a photo with your quote request.
Moffat offers three edge finishes on custom cut mirrors: flat-polished or beveled, Flat-polished is the clean modern default for contemporary installs. Wall-to-wall mirrors are installed with one of three methods: visible mirror clips, construction-grade adhesive, or hidden-channel hardware. Clips are the traditional residential option with visible top-and-bottom hardware. Adhesive bonds the mirror directly to a stable interior wall for a flush look with no visible hardware. Hidden-channel uses top-and-bottom channels that grip the panel invisibly for a premium modern face. Method is confirmed at the measure visit.
Yes. Moffat replaces cracked and chipped mirror panels, restores aged silvering on older mirrors, and retrofits older clip-mounted installs to a cleaner hidden-channel look. Cracked-panel replacement keeps the original install footprint while swapping in a new panel. Re-silvering is the right call for antique frames worth preserving. Hidden-channel retrofit modernizes the look without redoing the whole install. Photos of the existing mirror help speed the quote.
