Warranty

Every residential install we complete is covered by a 1-year workmanship warranty on labor from the date of installation. The scope is adjustments and operational issues on the glass and hardware we installed. That covers shower door alignment and closure adjustments, hinge, handle, and latch operation, loose hardware or mirror-clip re-tightening, and glass-panel alignment on heavy-glass partitions and wine walls. When you call about an issue during the warranty period, the same Moffat technicians who built the install schedule the return visit. Exclusions, including weather damage, hard water buildup, and normal wear on finishes, are detailed in §7 below so you know where workmanship coverage ends. Commercial installs are covered by a 1-year workmanship warranty from the date of project completion, with the same scope as residential: adjustments and operational issues on the glass and hardware Moffat installed. That applies to frameless storefronts, conference-room glass walls, all-glass entry doors, and commercial partitions across our low-rise commercial work. The same in-house Moffat team handles commercial warranty service, so the technician who returns to a property is from the same crew that completed the project. Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) are covered by a 10-year pro-rated manufacturer warranty, with labor not included. Pro-rated means the manufacturer’s replacement coverage scales down over the 10-year window: full coverage in the early years, decreasing annually. IGU service typically presents as a failed seal, which shows up as visible fogging or trapped moisture between the two panes. During the first year after install, Moffat’s workmanship warranty covers the labor side of an IGU service call; after year one, labor is billable while the manufacturer’s pro-rated material coverage continues. All hardware Moffat installs (residential shower hardware, commercial hardware, window mechanisms, specialty coatings) and all glass categories outside IGUs (tempered glass, mirrors, heavy glass, custom-fab pieces) pass through the manufacturer’s standard warranty terms. Specific durations vary by manufacturer and product line, so we do not claim a single term across the category. Premium hardware finishes (matte black, brushed nickel, polished chrome, gold, brass) follow the same manufacturer-standard terms with no separate Moffat-side coverage extension. As with IGUs, Moffat’s 1-year workmanship covers labor during the first year on any hardware service call; after year one, labor is billable against the manufacturer’s term. Our response time on any warranty request is within 2 business days, which is industry-standard for a local glass shop and is the same window for residential customers and commercial property managers. Moffat does not maintain a rush-service tier or run service calls outside normal business hours, and we publish that openly so customers know what to expect. Warranty calls are scheduled into the team’s workflow alongside new installs, which protects the quality of both. The workmanship warranty does not cover the following, published as honest care guidance rather than legalese:

• Colorado weather extremes: Hail, freeze-thaw cracking, and snow loads on skylights are not covered. Periodic visual inspection helps catch small issues early.
• Hard water buildup on shower glass: Mineral spotting is not covered. Squeegee after every shower, and the factory coating we apply at install slows buildup significantly.
• Damage from improper cleaning: Abrasive cleaners, steel wool, and ammonia sprays etch glass and pit finishes. Mild, non-abrasive cleaners only.
• Pet damage: Scratches from pets are not covered. Periodic torque checks help preserve the install in high-traffic households.
• Modifications by other contractors: Glass altered by another contractor falls outside coverage. Contact Moffat first for any work on glass we installed.
• Normal wear on hardware finishes: Premium finishes wear gradually; routine torque checks keep installs looking original longer.
• Acts of God and vandalism: Not covered by workmanship. Homeowner insurance typically covers these, and Moffat handles the replacement install once the scope is approved.
